The Learning Link, a family owned, licensed preschool and day care center, has offered a unique environment for the education of young children for the past 15 years. The Montessori philosophies of teaching, combined with traditional developmental concepts, provide your child with a complete, well-rounded learning experience. Our programs cultivate a careful balance of the scholastic, social and physical skills your child needs.

The classroom is designed so that each student can absorb and discover at his own pace. The programs offer experiences and instruction in the following areas:

Practical Life: Daily living activities encourage a child to learn to care for himself, master social graces, gain organizational skills, and practice small motor control.

Sensorial: The materials in this area of the classroom were designed by Dr. Montessori to provide a child with a multitude of sensory experiences such as discrimination of size, shape and color, as well as taste, touch and sound.

Language: Children are introduced to a wide variety of vocabulary building activities and reading readiness skills prior to beginning a complete phonics program.

 Mathematics: Simple counting and number recognition lead the way for work in concepts such as the odd and even numbers, the decimal system, and addition.

Our full curriculum, offered to students on all schedules, also includes activities in art, gymnastics, music and foreign language instruction. Science and geography, as well as cultural and nature studies will also be explored. Our themes, Show & Tell, and special activities add a bit of fun every week!

Children will have ample opportunities to socialize and play with each other, in the classroom settings as well as in our fully equipped playroom and our large, tree-lined outdoor playground area.

The staff at The Learning Link Center, many of whom have taught here for five to ten years, and more, bring dedication and commitment to our centers with various combinations of Montessori and early childhood training, and child care experience. Our pledge to attracting, training, and keeping excellent teachers really sets Learning Link apart from the other schools or centers in the area. We are determined to help your child grow physically, socially, intellectually, and emotionally. Our awareness of how the young child develops and learns is based on respect and understanding, and allows each of us to go beyond the characteristics of the stereotypical teacher and act as a role model, resource person, demonstrator, observer, caregiver and friend.

 Our discipline methods are based on an underlying respect for children's needs, and the belief that a child feels more secure when allowed to control his own behavior and master his environment. Basic rules that are consistent will allow for inner discipline and the growth of self confidence. The classroom setting, activities, and ground rules all help to develop a child's patience, cooperation and respect for others.

Our center is able to provide varied days and hours to meet the needs of students and parents alike. From two half-days, to the full-time pre-school daycare schedule, there is a program for your child! One of our most unique programs is the Pre-school Plus, which is wonderful for the Pre-K or Young Fives child. And, of course, our full-time Kindergarten program does an amazing job of preparing students for elementary school!
